The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) doesn’t know anything about the negotiations on the exchange of detained and arrested in Russia on suspicion of spying Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko on Viktor Pavlenko, who was accused of working for the Russian GRU and detained in Rivne. The SBU Chief of Staff Olexandr Tkachuk said this to 112 Ukraine TV Channel.

"As for today I do not know about the start of any negotiation processes related to the detained Russian spy Pavlenko", he said.

Alexander Tkachuk also admitted the possibility of the exchange of two "Ukrainian saboteurs" arrested in the Crimea.

We hope that all the illegally detained citizens of Ukraine on certain political insinuations will be released by the Russian side. We will not talk about the exchange; we will talk about the specific steps in the legal field with the Russian side. Those people will simply be released, and the charges will simply be removed", Tkachuk stressed.
