Russian border guards detained a citizen of Ukraine, who wanted to carry 50 kg of drugs hidden in the car on the administrative border with the occupied Crimea. It is stated by the so-called Crimean Russian Border Guard Service, TASS reports.

"During the inspection of the Lexus RX 350 guards gound 50 kg of drugs, hidden in the casing of the door, under the rear bumper, in an alcove, fitted under the rear passenger door, the lid and the side pockets of the luggage", reads the statement.

The incident occurred on New Year's Eve, December 31.

It is reported that the detainee worked in a private clinic in Kyiv.

"He went to visit his mother on New Year holidays, who lives in Simferopol. Shortly before the trip one friend, on hearing of his intention to go to the Crimea, offered to pay him $ 500 for transportation of the drugs to the territory of the peninsula", stated in the material of the FSB.

According to special services, the car preparation for smuggling was carried out in Kherson.

The drugs have been seized and transferred to the examination in the so-called Forensic center of the Russian Interior Ministry in the Republic of Crimea.
