The relatives of the killer of Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov, Turkish 22-year-old Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş say that the guy was not a religious fanatic. It is reported by Reuters.

In particular, the father of accused of murdering man said that the behavior of his son  began to change after Mevlut became acquainted with the policeman, who was identified as Serkan.

"As far as I know, he was not a member of a terrorist organization, religious group or network, - said the father of the gunman - However, he was more focused on his prayers, more introverted and quiet after became a policeman."

The man said he spoke with son on a day of the murder. Man's mother also mentioned a phone conversation with her son on the day of the death of the Russian ambassador - Altyntash asked about what she did that time.

"Well, my mother, God bless you and give me your blessing.", - He said in a conversation.

Neighbors also speak well of Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş.

"I have always admired their son. He was respectful and calm, very good young man. When the police arrived, we were convinced that he was killed while on duty, and they came to inform the family..", - Said the family neighbors.
