President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated Ukrainians on the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of Kyiv from the Nazis. It is reported by the presidential press service.
"Dear veterans of the war! Dear Kyiv citizens, compatriots! From all my heart I congratulate you on the important event - the 73rd anniversary of the victorious battle for the capital of Ukraine, which has become one of the crucial stages of World War II and the symbol of the great sacrifice of our soldiers. I express deep filial gratitude to the participants of heroic epic battle for their feat and granting us the fortune to live and work in our native land ", - wrote Poroshenko.
Poroshenko urged to bow low to the bright memory of the fallen, to pray for all those who died in the struggle for freedom and independence of Ukraine.
"I am convinced that the historical achievements and victories of the older generation will always be the life-giving source of inspiration, wisdom and unity, a shining example of selfless service to the people for the modern defenders of sovereignty of our country", - stressed the head of state.
