Pope Francis visited a Catholic monastery in Rome, which is the shelter for 20 former prostitutes, BBC reported.

In the monastery live woman aged about 30 years old, who came from Nigeria, Romania, Albania, Tunisia, Ukraine and Italy. Francis said that "they were subjected to physical violence, and now they are protected." He talked with the women, and apologized for the fact that insufficiently prayed for them.
The Pope also said that human trafficking - a crime against humanity.

The visit has become a part of the program "Friday of Mercy", within which the pontiff plans each month to make  private visits during the jubilee year of charity.
