Paris Court convicts Ukrainian for criticizing Russian propaganda film

Court obliged Anna Chesanovska to pay a fine of approximately 15,000 USD, with most money being a reparation for moral damage to Paul Moreira, the director.

Paris Court obliged Ukrainian translator Anna Chesanovska to pay a fine of approximately 15,000 USD for criticizing a film Ukraine, the masks of Revolution directed by Paul Moreira, Ukrayinska Pravda reports.

“Paris Court obliged her to pay a fine and a compensation, which may top 15,000 USD,” – their website tells.

According to the publisher, the Ukrainian characterized the film as pro-Russian propaganda and manipulation.

It is noted that the translator’s defence appealed against the conviction.

Ukraine, The Masks of the Revolution is a documentary about role of extreme right-wing paramilitary groups in Ukraine during and after the overthrow of the Yanukovych government, and especially in the violence in Odesa in May 2014.
