If the referendum on Ukraine joining the NATO were to be held in the near future, 62% of the population would vote, 71% of those people would vote for and 23%-against, another 6% have not decided on it yet.
This information was announced according to the poll of the Razumkov Centre and the Democratic Initiatives Foundation, reports ZN.UA.
Ukrainians consider NATO membership to be the main option that would guarantee Ukraine's security (according to 44% of respondents).
At the same time 26% of respondents hope for non-aligned status and 6% support the prospect of a military alliance with Russia and other CIS countries. 4% voted for the military alliance with the US.
The research was conducted by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation together with the Razumkov Centre from December 16-20, 2016 in all regions of Ukraine except Crimea and the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine wants to hold NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Kyiv. Ukrainian delegation proposed to change the schedule already approved by the assembly.
