The cross-shaped monument features white and red colors, those of the national flag of Belarus, with the national emblem of Belarusian lands in the center (nv.ua).

The memorial is dedicated to the memory of three Belarusian citizens who stood up for Ukraine during the Euromaidan protests and the Donbas conflict. Mykhailo Zhyznevsky was shot dead by a sniper during street riots in Kyiv on January 22, 2014. Ales Cherkashyn and Vitaliy Tilizhenko were the volunteers of tactical group Belarus, a paramilitary unit that sided with Ukrainian troops during Donbas conflict; both died during the battle of Starohnativka in August 2015.
