Andriy Sadovy asked President for help on first day of big fire at Grybovychi junkyard near Lviv

“I asked the President for help in putting out the fire. After my solicitations, the government sent in a firefighting aircraft. They could’ve done it on the first day of the disaster, and then people wouldn’t die”, Sadovyi said in an interview with 112 Ukraine TV channel.

Previously, the mayor offered to announce Lviv zone of environmental emergency, as there is a problem with removing the trash away from the city. The offer was heavily criticized by President and the government, who said Sadovy is trying to get his political career going at the cost of solving environmental problems.
