According to Habertürk, a Chechen national (initials O.V.) came to Istanbul from Rakka, the Syrian city, which is now controlled by ISIS militants.

Turkish newspaper Milliyet wrote that the three suicide bombers might be citizens of Tajikistan. This country’s Foreign Ministry already rendered this statement as unreliable information, saying it cannot confirm involvement of Tajik citizens in the terrorist act at Atatürk airport in Istanbul.
