Kyiv’s municipal services put more snow clearing vehicles on the city’s streets – to be ready for the upcoming snowfalls; similar actions take place in some other Ukrainian cities.
According to Oleg Kulykov, Head of Road Maintenance Facility Department of Kyiv’s Obolon district, the overall number of snow clearing vehicles in Kyiv will make up to 300 units. ‘Over the next several days, the temperature will keep on the level of 18 degrees below zero; and there will be snowfalls for the next 3 to 5 days,’ he said.
According to weather forecasts, snowfalls will be occurring all over Ukraine since today, January 6, till January 8. The temperatures will range from minus 18 degrees by Celsius (western, northern and central Ukraine) to plus 11 degrees in the occupied Crimea. Mykolaiv and Odesa regions (southern Ukraine) will get most of the snow these days. The blizzards are expected to cease by January 10.
