First day of September hit with abnormal heat and was recognized as the hottest first day of autumn for the past 123 days. According to the Central Geophysical Observatory, on Tuesday, September 1, after 3 pm the temperature was + 35.5 ° C, what exceeds the maximum value for 2.3° C for that day in 1892.

In addition, the temperature exceeded the previous average daily temperature of 1892. Yesterdays’ average daily temperature was + 25.6 ° C.

According to the Central Geophysical Observatory, the night of September 2 was also the warmest one. The night temperature did not fall below + 21.8 ° C, exceeding by 3.7 ° C to the previous historical significance of this day of 1944.

Since the beginning of the year 17 temperature records are registered in Kyiv.

As was reported few hours ago, City of Kyiv Department of Sanitation stated about the high level of contaminants (nitrogen dioxide and formaldehyde) in the atmospheric boundary layer.
