Facebook and many of its apps have been blocked in China for years. So they launched an app on sharing photos, in order to dodge the Chinese law, as a person knowing about the company’s plans told The New York Times.

The app is named Colorful Balloons, and is similar to Facebook's Moments. To log into the new app the largest social network in China, WeChat, is used.
