A tourist from the UK who visited the exclusion zone around the Chornobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine, triggered the radiation detectors in "Boryspil" airport on his way home, reports the Speaker of the State Border Guard Service, Oleg Slobodyan.

"Radiation Control Device was triggered by the citizen of Great Britain, who was returning from Ukraine and heading for a flight to London. After the measurements we revealed that the radiation dose was slightly above normal. During the conversation we found out that this man visited Chornobyl zone for tourism purposes, "- says Slobodyan.

The tourist said that he stayed in Chornobyl area for a long time and was near metal objects there. As he had no prohibited items, as well as his "background radiation" did not pose a danger to other passengers, so he was released.
