Anadolu: 1,800 Turkish Special Forces patrol Istanbul

Police and army are ordered to shoot down any aircraft, which has no authorization to take off

About 1,800 fighters of Turkish Special Forces were summoned to Istanbul from across the country, Anadolu reported. They patrol local streets; chief of Istanbul police ordered his servicemen to destroy any helicopter, which would take off above the Turkish capital without special authorization.

A military source told the press two army helicopters were detected in the area, saying that the military ‘offered their crews to give up’.
