In Israel, police, border guards, military and staff of the general security services have detained about 40 Israeli and Palestinian Arabs suspected of involvement in the burning of forests and bushes with the aim of harming the state or incitement to arson, reported Newsru.co.il.

At least against 23 of them the indictments will be filed.

It is reported that during the first five days of fighting forest fires about 2,500 firemen localized and extinguished about 630 fires in the northern and central regions of Israel. Special firefighting planes made about 500 missions.

According to specified data, as a result of forest fires were affected about 180 people, totally or partially burned 560 housing units (previously reported more than 700), about 80 thousand people were forced to leave their homes. The greatest damage is caused in Haifa, Zichron Ya'akov, Halamish, Nataf and Beit Meir. Information about assessment of the damage was not reported.

Also known that on the night of Sunday, November 27, new ignitions were reported. "The preliminary investigation revealed that the second fire near Nataf was the result of arson by Molotov cocktails", - the report says.
