August 7 a children bike marathon “Children for Eurointegraion and peace” (Ukraine-Poland) will start in Sosnivka, Lviv region. 8 children and 2 adults will lead to Oświęcim, province of southern Poland.
While overcoming the distance of 1245 km for 24 days around western Ukraine and Poland children will meet their peers, representatives of government and NGOs. They are to visit Oświęcim State Museum "Auschwitz - Birkenau", a world famous symbol of war. They also visit many other places in Poland.
The children want to contribute to the struggle for peace - namely to draw attention of Ukrainian and Polish public in the process of European integration of Ukraine and the need for peace in Europe, say the organizers of the event. The organizer of the children’s bike marathon is "Eco-charity" Foundation with the support of Sokal district council of Lviv region. The purpose of the action is to organize summer vacation and rehabilitation of children, to bring up in the framework of human quality – peace, and show European living standards children.
