International celebration “Dîner en blanc” will be held in Ukraine for the first time. This event is directly affiliated with the international phenomenon known as the ‘big white party’ where all of the attendees are expected to dress in white.
Traditionally, the visitors come to share their meal. Except eating the food and drinks, the Kyiv guests may participate in various floristic and perfumes master-classes and auctions. Money raised from the ticket sales and the auctions will go on the "Tabletochki" fund, which helps children with blood cancer.
Dîner en Blanc, which began 25 years ago as a chic Parisian picnic for a handful of friends, has exploded into an international phenomenon with more than 15,000 members in 17 cities. Diners dressed head to toe in white and bringing with them white tablecloths, glassware and other finery, gathered on Thursday night for an impromptu open-air dinner, which takes place at a different place in Paris every year. Participants were told of the venue via social media sites and the Internet, then rushed to assemble at the venue.
