On August 24, the 24th anniversary of Ukraine's modern independence, there will be a unique commemoration. At 10am, Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) activists are encouraging a moment of national silence to honour those who have given their lives for Ukraine's democracy and sovereignty - whether on Maidan or in ATO. The moment also marks Ukraine's current efforts to build its new future. AFUO encourages the community to join in this honourable initiative.

Ukrainian Association of West Australia invites Ukrainians to gather for common celebration of Ukrainian Independence Day. A festive lunch and a concert will be held August 30, 2015.  Roztiazhka Dancers, Speka Dancers and tba will entertain those who gather to celebrate Ukrainian Independence Day.
