To ensure order in the torchlight procession to the birthday of Stepan Bandera, which will take place in Kyiv, 700 police officers will be on duty. It is reported by press service of Kyiv National Police.
"Nearly 700 law enforcement officers will protect the rule of law, of whom 250 are the servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine. On January 1, 2017, on the occasion of 108th anniversary of the birth of Stepan Bandera will be held events with massive participation of citizens.
A sufficient number of law enforcement officers of the capital's police will monitor compliance with the public order. Reinforced police squads will be on duty in the city center, on public transport stops and in the subway, "- said the police.
Law enforcers call on the participants of mass events, residents and visitors not to violate the law, to comply with the established rules of behaviour.
In the center of Kyiv on the first day of the new year will be held torchlight procession dedicated to the birthday of Stepan Bandera. The event is scheduled for 18:00. Its route will go along the central streets of the capital: Volodymyrska, Shevchenko boulevard, Khreshchatyk and will end at the Independence Square. During the campaign was planned the fire-show performing during the passage of the procession near the subway station "Khreshchatyk".
Similar actions took place in the capital in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
