Lviv residents, relatives of the victims, priests, and representatives of public and political organizations will gather at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of All Saints Ukrainian people to join a memorial liturgy. Afterward, relatives and friends of the victims will hold a memorial march leading to the notorious airport. And at 12.45 a fervent prayer will be followed.
The Sknyliv air show disaster occurred on 27 July 2002, when a Ukrainian Air Force Sukhoi Su-27 of the Ukrainian Falcons crashed during an aerobatics presentation at Sknyliv airfield near Lviv, Ukraine. Following the disaster, the pilots stated that the flight map they had received differed from the actual layout. The accident killed 77 people and injured 543, 100 of whom were hospitalised. Ten people suffered permanent disabilities as a result of the accident.
