In the Saratov region, Russian Federation, truck carrying 20,000 bottles of vodka overturned and caught on fire, Russia 24 reported .

The truck turned over on the federal highway M-10 a week ago. The accident resulted in 20 thousands of bottles with liquor spilled on the roadside.

Most of the bottles remained intact and were "attacked" by the villagers of neighboring Maloe Perekopnoe settlement in Balakovo district of Saratov region. The "clearing" of the road took several days. Local police officer who came to the place of the accident began to search for witnesses and accomplices of alcohol steal. The law enforcers who arrived at the place of event, found out that excise stamps on the vodka bottles were rigged.Due to the fact, criminal proceedings were opened under the Criminal Code’s article on "Production, sale of counterfeit excise stamps, special compliance stamps or marks and their use", Russia 24 reported.
