The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine perceived the statement of the State Duma of Russia of July 7 with astonishment. It contains the groundless accusation towards Ukrainian and Moldovan sides. Particularly, they as it said to be blocked Transnistria region of the Republic of Moldova. The press service of the Foreign Ministry reported this.
The Ministry noted that Transnistria region of the Republic of Moldova uses all advantages of the Free Trade Area of CIS and the Free Trade Area between Moldova and the European Union and the export of the production from Transnistria increase from 51 million of dollars.
‘The so-called worry of the Russian State Duma on the implementation of the joint control at the checkpoint Kuchurgan creates the complete resentment. This decision confirms the force of the legal boundaries of the Republic of Moldova over the whole territory of the country. Herewith Russia always states about its respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Republic of Moldova within the internationally recognized borders’, the message said.
The Ukrainian diplomats called the accusation of the Russian side in the foot-dragging of the holding of the next round of talks in the format 5+2 to be the next example of the unvarnished manipulation. It was the Tiraspol administration that declined the recent offer of the organization of the Bavarian Conference where it was planned to discuss the future order of the day and the terms of its holding.
‘We draw attention that Ukraine’s stand irremovably lies in the necessity of the peaceful settlement on the basis of the fundamental principles of the international law, particularly, the respect to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of the frontiers. It concerns the Transnistria settlement in the full measure’, MFA noted.
Moreover, the department urged Russia to stop the deconstructive actions and present the effective help in the solving of the range of the up-to-date issues of the order of the day in the format of 5+2 in the interests of the two banks of Dniester. Also, Russia should fulfill the obligations taken as the result of Istanbul OSCE Summit of 1999 and withdraw troops from the Transnistria Region of the Republic of Moldova.
Earlier, the unrecognized Transnistria claimed that Ukraine banned the transit of the production via its territory to Transnistria.
The authors of the document cited the order of the main state inspector of the veterinary medicine of Ukraine dated May 17, 2017. It provides that the pass of the regulated freight in transit mode through the territory of Ukraine since May 20 will be conducted only in the terms of the agreement of it with the National Agency of Security of Food Products of the Republic of Moldova.
