Russian Defense Ministry started to equip a naval base in the Syrian port of Tartus. This was reported by "Interfax".

"Without waiting for the documentation about raising the status of Russian facility in the Syrian port of Tartus from the logistical support object to the naval base, Russia fills the object with necessary support vessels, boats and equipment," the statement says.
