Russia launches surprise inspection of combat readiness near Belarus and Ukraine’s border

Troops are organized to the highest degree of combat readiness and hold military marches in designated areas

The Russian Federation began sudden readiness test of the Western Military District, adjacent to Ukraine and Belarus. This is stated in a message posted on the website of the Ministry of Defense.

"Today, in accordance with the decision of the Acting Commander of the Western Military District Lieutenant-General Victor Astapov, the unannounced inspections of formations and military district units begun. The higher degree of readiness are shown in motorized infantry, artillery, rocket and anti-aircraft missile brigade, the brigade of army aviation units software, Leningrad naval base, military commissariat of St. Petersburg, Pskov, Novgorod regions and the Republic of Karelia are also involved", reads  the report.

This clarifies that now the Russian troops in the departments on a regular technique make marches in designated areas, which will take up the tasks as intended.

"Mobile field management points and communication centers, providing real-time steady exchange of information and coordination through regional forces defense control center staff of the Western Military District have been deployed on a dedicated ground in the Leningrad region”, added in a statement.
