Russian President Vladimir Putin kept and still keeps the situation around Crimea under his personal control and would not change his decision if he had such possibility. This was reported by Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov in an interview to RBC.

"He actually kept and still keeps "Crimean history" under his personal control… I am sure he would act like this again and again, as he did, and would take the same decisions that he has made, and would take the same responsibility that he has taken," Peskov said.

At the same time, Peskov noted that "integration processes could have been carried out more effectively, spend budget money with a better impact, directed at improving the level of life in Crimea."

He also noted that currently "it is not quite important" when Ukraine recognizes Crimea as the Russian territory and when two countries reach reconciliation.
