American Senators plan to adopt large scale sanctions against Russia for cyber-attacks that influenced the Presidential elections in the USA.

Republican U.S. Senator John McCain and Democratic Senators Ben Cardin and Robert Menendez said on Monday they would introduce legislation to impose "comprehensive" sanctions on Russia over its attempts to influence the 2016 U.S. election. This was reported by Reuters.

Eralier it was reported that EU estimated losses due to sanctions against Russia. Research indicates that because of the weakness of the Russian economy trade between Russia and the EU would be significantly weakened even without sanctions.
