US senators from the Republican and Democratic parties have prepared a draft that provides the introduction of new sanctions against Russia. This was reported by one of the authors of the draft, Democratic Senator Ben Cardin, reports CNN.
"It will be a comprehensive bill that will provide congressional authorization for additional sanctions against Russia," Cardin said.
According to the Democrat, the sanctions will be a response to Moscow's actions in Eastern Europe, including the annexation of Crimea and support for the regime of Bashar Assad in Syria. This bill may be submitted to the US Senate next week, according to Ben Cardin.
Earlier it was reported that US Senate delegation visited Ukraine on December 30-31.
