Since the beginning of the Donbas conflict US has granted 265 million dollars to support Ukraine, -reported the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense with responsibility for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia Michael Carpenter during an interview with "Voice of America".

“Since the beginning of the conflict the United States has provided Ukraine with $ 265 million assistance. These funds have been spent on military trainings and on different equipment - from the radar facilities to the night vision devices, portable radio sets, vehicles and patrol boats and so on", - said Michael Carpenter.

Earlier Geoffrey Pyatt stated that USA is ready to help Ukraine fight on two fronts

Thus Carpenter believes that it’s not quite right to divide the US assistance into categories – lethal and non-lethal.
"We need to understand which military capabilities will be necessary for Ukraine in the future. Our goal is to teach the Ukrainian forces, make them combat-ready, and later - compatible with NATO standards ", - stated Michael Carpenter.
