The US House of Representatives approved a waiver for nomination of James Mattis, nicknamed "Mad Dog", submitted by US President-elect Donald Trump, as the head of the Pentagon. On the eve of vote in the House of Representatives, Speaker of the US president Josh Earnest said that Obama will not interfere with the appointment and will sign the law as soon as it is approved.

This was reported by radio "Liberty".

This one-time exception will be made for General Mattis, the “Mad Dog” from the law that forbids assigning former military officers that resigned less than seven years before the assignment. Mattis resigned in 2013.
