Ukraine’s Prosecutor General hands President his resignation letter, - media

Viktor Shokin, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General passed President Petro Poroshenko his letter of resignation. Ukrainian outlet reported this on February 16. The information was also confirmed by a source of Ukrainska Pravda outlet in the Prosecutor General’s Office. Mustafa Nayem, MP from pro-presidential Petro Poroshenko’s Bloc, posted the information at his Twitter account.      

Earlier this day, President Poroshenko urged Shokin and Prime Minister Yatsenyuk to resign. The Head of the state met Shokin on Tuesday and personally offered him to write the resignation letter, explaining that the Prosecutor General’s Office failed to get the public approval.
