Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko officially accused ex-president Viktor Yanukovych of several crimes, specifically the state treason. Lutsenko said this during his speech in Kyiv on Monday, while courts in Kyiv and Rostov took a 15-minute-long technical pause.

‘Taking into account that Yanukovych is beyond the Ukrainian territory now and that he actually flees from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies… the notice of suspicion was announced orally. The very document was sent to every known address of Yanukovych’s stay,’ Lutsenko said.

He added that the notice of suspicion was actually sent to all every known address of Yanukovych’s stay in Russia.

Besides, Lutsenko said, similar notice of suspicion will soon be handed over to ex-Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, who fled the counrty in February 2014, just like Yanukovych and most of his associates.
