The Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, is to turn to the PACE and the OSCE tomorrow, asking them to assess the illegal detention of Ukrainian reporter Roman Sushchenko. The parliamentary speaker Andriy Parubiy said this in Kyiv on Monday.

As 112 International reported, Roman Sushchenko, the journalist working for Ukrinform news agency, was detained in Russia and charged with ‘espionage’, as Russian authorities put it. Today, the Lefortovo court in Moscow ruled that he would be arrested for two months. His lawyer, Mark Feygin, already said he’d file an appeal on the court’s decision.
