Ukraine appoints new coordinator for Istanbul Anti-corruption Action Plan

The draft of the decision shall be sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine

Ihor Tkachenko is appointed an Istanbul Anti-corruption Action Plan Coordinator by the National Agency for Preventing Corruption (NAPC), the NAPC press service reported.

“The National Coordinator coordinates performance of the central and local executive authorities involved into implementation of Istanbul Action Plan and receives information from them in due order, performs monitoring implementation of the action plan, establishes cooperation between the national agencies of the member states of the action plan, etc.,” reads the message.

The draft of the decision shall be sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The National Agency for Preventing Corruption (NAPC) is a Ukrainian law enforcement anti-corruption agency with investigatory powers which investigates corruption in Ukraine, which forms and realizes governmental anti-corruption policy, coordinates implementing international commitment in the sphere of formation and realization of the anti-corruption agency.

Ukraine is a member of the Istanbul Anti-corruption Action Plan – a sub-regional peer review programme launched in 2003 in the framework of the Anti-Corruption Network. It supports anti-corruption reforms through country reviews and continuous monitoring of implementation of recommendations, which promote the UNCAC and other international standards and best practice.
