President of the United States Donald Trump never asked the FBI’s former leader James Comey to back off the investigation into the actions of Michael Flynn, the ex-national security adviser. The Washington Post reported that, quoting the U.S. leader at his yesterday’s meeting with Columbian president Juan Manuel Santos.
‘No. No. Next question,’ was his response to the reporter’s question whether he asked Comey to suspend the investigation.
The president also reiterated his claim that the Justice Department's decision Wednesday to appoint a special counsel to look into possible collusion with Russia was 'a witch hunt,' saying he had never colluded with the Russians. 'I respect the move, but the entire thing has been a witch hunt, and there is no collusion between — certainly myself and my campaign, but I can only speak for myself and the Russians,' Trump said as quoted by the U.S. outlet.
Earlier it was reported that Trump’s ex-adviser Flynn was receiving payments from Russia Today, according to The Washington Post. Former Trump's national security adviser submitted fees he had received from Russian companies in the new financial disclosure.
