US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson noted Ukraine's progress in implementing reforms. He announced this at a briefing on Sunday, July 9, in Kyiv. The broadcast was conducted by the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"I want to note the tremendous progress made by the Ukrainian government in the past few years in reform process and regarding economic achievements as well. I know that there is still a lot of work ahead to continue these reforms in order to ensure security and economic achievements in Ukraine. I know that Ukraine has obligations to the International Monetary Fund to implement land reform and improve corporate governance. We talked a lot about the steps that must be taken to make Ukraine very attractive for foreign investment. I know that you are persistent to improve this situation," the US Secretary of State said.
He also drew attention to the importance of carrying out anti-corruption and judicial reforms. According to him, this is also an element for attracting foreign investment.
