The Syrian army claims they are ready to shoot down the Turkish military aircraft in case the planes cross the country’s borders. SANA agency reported this with reference to the military HQ.
‘Any attempt to violate the airspace of Syria by the Turkish Air Force will be repelled – up to hitting the aircraft,’ the agency reported.
150 peaceful civilians are reported to have been killed in the recent airstrikes delivered by the Turkish Air Force to the north of Aleppo, SANA says.
The Turkish army and Syrian armed opposition have been broadening their military operation in Northern Syria, turning it into an assault on Syrian Kurds who reside in this part of the country. The military campaign against the Kurdish ‘Democratic Union’ makes Turkey another key player in the ongoing Syrian conflict – along with Russia that is also leading its own military operation in Syria.
