South Ossetia will close the border with Georgia at 8 pm Moscow time on August 6, until 7 am August 9, as the South Ossetia KGB reports on Facebook.

“As memorial ceremonies on the 9th anniversary of the Georgian aggression are to be held, starting 8 pm August 6, a temporary suspension of the border crossing points with Georgia is planned. Functioning of the afore mentioned border crossings will restart in the usual regime at 7 am on August 9, 2017,” the message informs.

Previously South Ossetia closed the Georgian border when the republic’s president Anatoliy Bibilov was being inaugurated.
