In the early morning hours of Saturday November 12, 2016, a man was injured in a shooting on the Morrison Bridge during a protest march against the election of Donald Trump. This was reported by the local police department.

Preliminary information indicates that a suspect was in a vehicle on the bridge and there was a confrontation with someone in the protest. The suspect got out of the vehicle and fired multiple shots injuring the victim.

Officers arrived on the scene quickly and provided medical aid. The suspect fled the area, and is described as an African American male. Several witnesses remained to speak to investigating officers.

Earlier, it was reported that around 200 people were arrested during protest marches in the USA.
