Mikheil Saakashvili, the former Georgian president and ex-Odesa governor, officially admitted that he violated the border crossing procedure while entering Ukraine recently. However, he said, Ukraine’s state border guards somewhat broke the law as well. Workers of the State Border Guard handed the politician respective protocol on Tuesday. Saakasvhili signed the paper and now is waiting for the court session slated for September 18.

As is known, the former Georgian leader crossed the Ukrainian border via Shegyni checkpoint, breaking the law due to incorrect completion of border crossing procedure. The crowd of at least 60 people, including five MPs, literally carried Saakashvili beyond the checkpoint, getting into a fight with law enforcers. The police and the state security service investigate the incident.
