Agents of Russian special services who perform acts of sabotage in Ukraine have a very particular goal; they aim to murder some of Ukraine’s political figures. Vasyl Hrytsak, the head of the SBU, Ukraine’s security service, said that at a briefing on Thursday.

‘Their targets are certain political and civil actors – preferably, the ones with the extraordinary personalities. They do not care if these people represent the government or the opposition – they aim for the public uproar. We managed to prevent a number of such terrorist attacks; over the last three months, Ukraine’s security service detected three saboteur groups from Russia,’ he said.
