The General Staff of Turkey said they had warned Russia about the whereabouts of Turkish military officers in the area of the airstrike in northern Syria. This was reported by Turkish agency Haber Turk, according to Dozhd.

Soldiers who died had been staying in the same building for ten days, the countries exchanged coordinates to avoid incidents during the month.

Earlier it was reported that three Turkish troops were killed by Russian air strike in Syria. Russian aircraft mistakenly destroyed the building with Turkish soldiers inside, reported Hurriyet.
