On Tuesday, activists of nationalist organizations gathered near the building of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, demanding to lift the immunity from five MPs.

On Tuesday afternoon, they approached the parliament carrying banners with symbols of Svoboda, the National Corps and New Forces Movement, the far-right Ukrainian movements. The protesters demanded that Parliament strip the corrupt lawmakers of their immunity and grant the permission to arrest them.

‘We’re ready to stay here until the Parliament lifts the immunity off the bribetakers,’ the National Corps posted on Facebook.

The parliament’s building was heavily guarded at the time. People fired smoke pellets and hit the metal barrels with sticks. Minor clashes were reported during the rally; besides, several people received minor burns and turned to medics for first aid. The police have not commented on the event yet.

Earlier today, the Ukrainiuan parliament lifted the immunity from several MPs, including Boryslav Rozenblatt, Oles Dovgy and Maksym Polyakov. The other two MPs suspected in bribetaking (Andriy Lozovy and Yevhen Deydey, - 112 International) keep their immunity intact for the time being.
