The President of Russian Federation agreed with the proposition of the Defense Ministry to decrease military presence of Russia in Syria. He announced this during the meeting with the Defense and Foreign Ministry of the country, reports TASS.

“I agree with the proposition of the Defense Minister on decrease of our military presence in Syrian Republic,” Putin said.

“Russian Federation will without doubt continue to fight the world terrorism and to further support legal Syrian government in their fight against terrorism,” he added.

“We will fulfill our agreements, including that on developing the stationing site of Russian military forces in Tartous and in Hmeymim airport”.

Earlier it was reported that Turkey and Russia agree on zones of influence in Syria. It is reported that Syria's President Bashar al-Assad could remain President another several years.
