Russian President Putin arrived in Beijing to attend celebration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people in the war against Japan and World War II.
Amid the sanctions imposed by the Western countries, Russia and China are boosting their cooperation, especially in economics and finance. They are to sign a number of agreements on mutual projects, covering energy, finance, transportation cooperation, TASS. In particular, the meeting between President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping will embrace Silk Road project, Eurasian Union, economic corridor with Russia and Mongolia, gas deals, national currencies, rail routes etc.
Meetings with presidents of Venezuela (Nicolás Maduro Moros), Laos (Choummaly Sayasone) and of the Czech Republic (Miloš Zeman) are also planned, as President Putin arrives in Beijing on a two-day visit.
