The protest against the high tariffs seems to have reached its end. Activists, who gathered in two columns and marched to the governmental quarter in the downtown Ukrainian capital, reached the buildings of the government and the parliament. But they already left their positions; it happened soon after Premier Volodymyr Groysman met with members of trade unions and stated that the Cabinet stays open to the dialogue.
On May 1, new gas prices took effect in Ukraine. In early July, the heating tariff increased almost by twice; the price for hot water also grew significantly. The regime of tough economy and low salaries evoke public outrage among many people in Ukraine.
