Opponents of Donald Trump plan to arrange large-scale protests in the US capital on January 20, when President-elect shall take the oath and receive the powers of the White House head. The police expects that tens of thousands of protesters will come out to the streets, reports Fox New Channel.

"The surprise victory of Trump on Tuesday over an opponent from the Democrats Hillary Clinton has already caused local protests across the country. However, the demonstrations, which are scheduled for the weekend before inauguration day, including the day of the oath on January 20 (Tuesday) on Capitol Hill, have the far more potential", said in a statement.

One of the wavws of protests was organized by the group "ANSWER for Act Now to Stop War & End Racism". On the facebook page the group posted an ad titled "A protest during the inauguration: let's stand against Trump, war, racism and inequality." Already, about 7 thousand people have confirmed their participation and 24 thousand expressed an interest in this protest action.

The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed yesterday that group has already held its first meeting where they talked about the possibility of mass demonstrations with the participation of not less than 30 thousand people. However, the police do not comment on their preparations for this action.
