The Russian official commented on yesterday’s prisoners exchange between Ukraine and Russia (TASS). ‘In this case, it is absolutely humanitarian exchange, and it has nothing to do with implementation of Minsk agreements. I’d rather not point at any sort of connection with the Minsk deal, because this document – even if read carelessly – concerns entirely different category of citizens’, Dmitriy Peskov said.

As 112 International reported, Hennadiy Afanasyev and Yuriy Soloshenko, two Ukrainian citizens and former political prisoners in Russia, returned home on June 14. They were exchanged on Olena Glyshchynska and Vitaliy Didenko, Ukrainian journalists charged with separatism, who were handed over to Russia on the same day. Upon Afanasyev and Soloshenko’s return, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the exchange became possible thanks to implementation of Minsk agreements.
