The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Israel on the temporary employment of Ukrainian workers in certain sectors of the Israeli labor market. 242 People’s Deputies voted for the corresponding bill.

According to the text of a bilateral agreement, "temporary employment" means the lawful employment of Ukrainian citizens in Israel in a particular sector by the employer that has a valid work permit for foreign workers, issued by the Government of Israel for a limited period, after which a citizen of Ukraine must leave Israel. The duration of temporary employment in each sector is defined in the relevant national implementing protocol and does not exceed the maximum duration set by the relevant national legislation, as well as the relevant decisions of the Israeli government.

The maximum number of workers who may be temporarily employed in each sector is determined in national implementing protocol for this industry and will correspond to the number of job offers from employers in Israel. At the same time, temporary employees are not allowed to engage in other paid employment or be engaged in any other industry, except the one for which the visa and work permit in Israel were issued.

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine expects that the implementation of this agreement will facilitate cooperation with Israel in the field of labor migration of workers.
