Olympics 2016: 19 European countries demand Russia's suspending

The Ministers of Culture and Sport of the 19 countries signed a letter in support of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), according to fyens.dk.

The letter not only expresses support in fighting against doping, but also put forward the following recommendation: to exclude Russia from all international competitions, including the Olympic Games in Brazil.

The initiator of the letter is the Minister of Culture and Sport Denmark Bertel Haarder. He was supported by Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, United Kingdom, Czech Republic and Austria.

"This is a clear signal that the countries want to see clean sport without any fraud, sport, where doping is insulting for sports and sports community. It is even more disgusting to the sport and all sports society is even more disgusting is that it organized the entire nation," - stated Berter Haarder, Minister of Culture and Sports of Denmark.

Earlier, the National Anti-Doping Center of Ukraine called on the International Olympic Committee to suspend the Russian Federation from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. A letter was sent to the IOC President on July 20.
